Docked in Santander and took the coach to Ribadesella. The bus station has a quaint little cafe attached when you walk in everyone stops talking and looks at you as you walk to the counter. They all started talking again once we were served. A very intense card game was going on with lots of arm waving, it reminded me a bit of the Post Office! Anyway a quick pit stop then onto another smaller bus which took us on a windey road up into the hills. We did start to get a bit worried when the hills turned into moutains and had snow on them. We had already told the bus driver the name of the place we were to be dropped off (more gesticulating) and he duly stopped the bus in the middle of nowhere nothing to be seen but eucalyptus trees and a mountain to climb (actually a very steep road). A mile or two later we reached our destination. A homestead in the hills above Asturias with the most fantastic views across to the sea with snow capped moutains in the distance. VERY long day.
